Everything you need to know at a glance

arrow-right Icon Your training

The training usually lasts three years and teaches you all the necessary skills – from the basics of scaffolding systems to practical assembly skills on the construction site. Inter-company training takes place in training centres for the construction industry.

You have a secondary school leaving certificate, enjoy getting stuck in and have no fear of heights. Team spirit, technical understanding and a responsible approach to safety are a matter of course for you; a driving licence (class B) is an advantage

arrow-right Icon What you will learn

You will learn to understand plans and load classes, and to assemble, anchor and secure scaffolding in accordance with the system – from façade scaffolding to working, protective or supporting scaffolding. You will also set up construction sites, inspect scaffolding, document acceptance and work with personal protective equipment in accordance with regulations.

You will mainly work on construction sites – on new builds, renovations and industrial facilities – and will travel to different locations depending on the project. You will work closely with other trades and be outdoors in all weathers.

arrow-right Icon Apprenticeship completed and then?

After the examination, you will start as a journeyman scaffolder and take on your own construction sections as well as responsibility for materials and safety. With experience, you can lead teams, supervise inspections and implement complex scaffolding solution

You can advance to become a foreman/team leader, senior fitter or master scaffolder – or move into scheduling/logistics, work preparation or safety and testing roles. Specialisations in industrial, suspended or room scaffolding construction open up additional career opportunities for you.
