Everything you need at a glance
Your apprenticeship
The apprenticeship usually lasts 3.5 years and teaches you all the important skills – from the basics to practical application. Parts of the training take place in inter-company training centres in the construction industry
You bring along
You have a secondary school leaving certificate, manual dexterity, good spatial awareness and good hand-eye coordination – and you should have a head for heights.
What will you learn
You will learn how to plan, manufacture and assemble metal structures such as stairs, railings and steel frames. You will work with steel or aluminium, welding, drilling and bending – in the workshop and on the construction site.
Your work locations
Metalworkers work in workshops, on construction sites or outdoors – depending on the project, also on nationwide or international assembly assignments.
Apprenticeship completed and then?
After your apprenticeship, you will finish and assemble roofing, facade elements or customised products according to plans. You will realise technical drawings and process metal with precision craftsmanship.
